Footsteps are an important part of any game, especially a game like Fortnite where sound plays a crucial role in gameplay. Footsteps can be used offensively to track down enemies and defensively to hear enemies coming before they can get too close. By default, footsteps are turned on in Fortnite, but if you’ve accidentally turned them off, here’s how to turn them back on.
First, launch Fortnite and click the “Settings” tab in the top-right corner of the main menu. Then, click the “Audio” tab and scroll down to the “Sound Effects” section. Under “Sound Effects,” you’ll see an option labeled “Footsteps.” Make sure the checkbox next to “Footsteps” is ticked.
